Hey guys! I'm back with another post which should be posted around one month ago. Yeap, I got waaaaay too busy with results and Raya to edit this. (Speaking about raya, that should be posted around 1 week ago too.) Okay, so anyway, my friends(Zaidi, 22, Cha, 21 & Elisa, 20) and I went to Australia for 12 days during winter. The temperature was not that cold (around 7-10 degree Celcious in Melbourne and 10 - 14 degree Celcious in Sydney), but it was veryyy windy, which made it felt like it's colder. We started our journey at 10.30PM, 12th June 2016 and we reached Melbourne on the next day, in the morning. 1ST DAY (The day we arrived in Melbourne) Using the bus, train and tram, we went straight to Malaysian Hall, the place where we'll be staying, to drop our luggage as our check in time was around 3PM. Then, we took the tram to our first destination of the day, Shrine of Remembrance, a place where you walk around as it's huge and garden-like while learning some history. Next, we walked to the Botanical Garden, which of course, is a garden but filled with information on flowers and various type of other plants. 2ND DAY Rode the train to stop by at (i forgot, lol), to get our rented car for the next two days and drove off to Phillip Island. We stopped by at the information center and decided on some of the places we wanted to visit. So, we decided to watch the Pelican Feeding and they fed the pelicans not far from the bridge we crossed to this island. We also decided to go to the Chocolate Factory and Wildlife Park. The Pelican Feeding is free but they will only feed them at a certain time but for the Chocolate Factory and Wildlife Park, you'll be charged to enter. 3RD DAY | Day well spent driving by the Great Ocean Road You name it, we went to every stop/attraction there is, along the Great Ocean Road. (Eg, 12 Apostles, Port Campbell, Otway Lighthouse Road, Bay of Islands). We drove there (okay, only Zaidi drove cs he could drive internationally as he's above 21). It was a long journey from one end of the road to the opposite end. (If the passengers like us also sakit belakang, bet the driver lagi lah sakit) 4TH DAY The first destination for this day was Victoria Market. This is one of the places where you can get cheap souvenirs for your family and friends in Melbourne! And it's also a typical market where shops sell fruits, belts, sweatshirts, accessories, footwear, all types of cheeses, beefs (everything that's in a supermarket is here but it's cheaper and you can bargain) And after Victoria Market, we stopped by at the famous State Library of Victoria. Fortunately for us, a free exhibition was also going on in the library so it's like killing 2 birds with 1 stone. And our final stop for the day, HOSIER LANE! 5TH DAY - National Gallery of Victoria - Did some shopping at DFO (CRAZY SALES especially at Cotton On) - Visited(?) the tennis stadium 6TH DAY | FAREWELL MELBOURNE | HELLO SYDNEY The day we're leaving Melbourne (sobs) Flying off to Sydney for the Vivid light festival but since our flight was in the afternoon, Zaidi, Cha and I didn't miss out the opportunity to visit Brighton Beach, obviously another famous tourist spot! Vivid Sydney Light Festival later in the evening! All the buildings, trees, streets, just name it, everything was colorful! Couldn't stop myself from staring at every inch of the colorful surrounding. 7TH DAY | BLUE MOUNTAIN TURNED WHITE(???) Okay, the mountain didn't turned white but it was raining that day. And you know how after the rain, the surrounding will be hazy-ish/white-ish. Well, that's exactly how I would describe our view for that day. And no, there's no picture taken unfortunately :( 8TH DAY | CIRQULAR QUAY, SYDNEY Main tourist attraction as Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Luna Park are all located here! We also stopped by at the State Library of NSW which was quite a distance from the Cirqular Quay stop. 9TH DAY | SHOPPING AROUND TOWNHALL (But no pictures, sobs) 10TH DAY | PADDY'S MARKET, BONDI BEACH, BREAKING OUR FAST AT NSW'S UNIVERSITY The title for this day pretty much sums up where we went :P ed
11TH DAY | GOODBYE SYDNEY! This marks the end of our 12 days journey. Mixed feelings on this day as we checked out from our rented apartment around 10AM and arrived at the airport waaaay too early before our flight which was at 9PM. Elisa and I walked around, took lots of naps and watched lots of videos, which felt like forever, before we could check in our luggages and such.
