12/24/2016 0 Comments JAPAN TRIP! Part 2Day 5 I'm back with the 2nd part of my Japan Trip! (As you can tell by the title) (Way to go in making things obvious izza). Anyway after the long bus ride; which I slept throughout the entire journey, we arrived at Kyoto Station. It's an enormous place, if your sense of direction is as poor as mine, you'll get lost. But thank god Alia was around. We kept our huge luggages in the lockers. Most lockers charged you around 500 to 700 yen depending on the size of the bags you're keeping with no time limit. We tour around the famous Bamboo Forest. I've no idea why but all the pictures turned out dull and disappointing. It's not as breathtaking as the other pictures I saw on random people's instagram. We then rented bicycles and mine happens to be the cutest bicycle ever. I love the basket that came with it and the tone of blue of the bicycle is one of my favorite colors! Anyway, we cycled around this park and it's filled with deers. They were honestly quite scary because they were freely wandering around and some even did a live show of them pooping, haha. Oh and we had the best mochi so far! Plus point for the simple yet attractive decoration by putting a sweet strawberry on top. Day 6 I personally love my outfit for this day. I paired my white chiffon Mango blouse with a maroon leather jacket with my Forever21 jeans. Our first stop was Ikuta Shrine followed by the Kobe Mosque and Chinatown. I guess no matter where you go, Chinatown is always there for you, ha-ha. Anyway, I highly recommend you to tour around Kobe if you're in Japan. Day 7 Finally the place I've been looking forward to go since the day I decided to visit Japan; it's Universal Studio Japan! (USJ) My main reason to experience this famous tourist spot in Osaka is because they have the Harry Potter theme park in here! Like yeap, they have the replica of Hogwarts and remember when Ron showed up at Harry's room with his dad's blue car (The Flying Ford)? That car was there too! And not to forget they even made a replica of the Hogwarts Express but it was only like a part of the train though. Lets just start from the beginning of my USJ journey. We reached here around 10 or 11am. As the train is nearing to Universal Studios, more people dressing up as characters from movies, comics and advertisement started getting on the train. Like I remember seeing at least 3 Jokers in the train. And yes people, I was judging internally on who wore it better, haha. The entrance was amazing. It was simple but still eye catching! Japan made me realized that the locals love dressing up. Our first ride was the roller coaster, you can either ride it facing forward.... or backward. We chose facing the front because the queue was slightly shorter haha. We waited in line for almost 2 hours. The ride was close-to-crazy-but-not-so. I've no idea why but I remember that on this particular day, it was extra cold. Like our body were freezing and at almost every chance we had, we went indoors with the excuse of wanting to buy souveniers and checking the menu for our late lunch later on. Fast forward to the most exciting part, it's finally time for us to enter the Harry Potter theme park section. An important guide for those who are going to USJ, the first thing you should do when you arrive at here is to get your time ticket to enter the HP World. The first thing that welcomed us was the Flying Ford. There was a line of people queing up to take pictures with it. Then we walked deeper into the fake forest and there was it, the entrance to this magical wizarding world. The theme music could be heard clearly and it was difficult blending in with the muggles once I'm in the area. I was so tempted to take out my wand that's hidden in my jeans and show them some of my tricks. Haha We were greeted with the sight of the front of the Hogwart Express on our right and the row of shops in Diagon Alley. And guysss the Ollivanders wand shop was perfect! Like they were literally selling thousands of wands and it was fascinating. From the boxes to the shelves, everything was on point! Oh and there was also a moving poster of Sirius Black where he was 'wanted" after escaping the Azkaban prison. Moving on, after our wizarding adenture, we went to eat lunch and like I've mentioned it was freezing cold and there was no empty tables indoors. So we had to eat outside, sobs. Then we went to some random shows and small rides, I honestly can't remember haha. Okay guys here's the unexpected highlight of the day, it was around 5 or 6PM. The sun has set and we were buying custom made bottles of Cocacola because my mom collects Coke from other countries because each is somehow different from one another. Anyway, the lights suddenly went out. Yes guys, Universal Studio Japan cut off the lights! Except in a few places like the rides, shows and souvenir shops. But I could say 60% of the place was dark. Out of the blue, I heard a few people screaming. And you know if it's a horror movie, the characters would walk closer to the source of the sound? Well that's what I did too, oops. It wasn''t just me, a lot of people were curious too. As we were getting closer, there was a zombie holding a chainsaw walking around. And more of the horrifying characters were passing by scaring us but none touched us physically. I was dead scared even though I knew after a few minutes that this was the main show of the day and they were just pretending, lol. And I kindda half lied, that was not the unexpected highlight, there's more. Please stop guessing on what it is because I'm about to tell you in the next sentence, ceh. There was an enormous cage near to the entrance and people were crowding around it. Of course we were trying to look inside the cage too, I remember climbing up one of the lampposts, haha. What surprised me was there was more terrifying humans in it trying to escape. Their acting was so real! Like I could feel them putting so much effort into their characters. A few moments later, this huge person who looked like Frankenstein walked crazily towards the cage and "destroyed" it. So yeah, all the prisoners broke free. People who were crowding around it at first were running away and yea, so did I. Then the police sirens were heard. Again, it doesn't feel fake at all. If this happens outside USJ, I would be freaking out and be one of the first few people to die. We stayed inside the souvenir shop for awhile because all the "prisoners" weren't allowed inside. USJ is smart enough not to scare their customers away, haha. Day 8 (The Last Day)
With a heavy heart, we walked around Shinsaibashi Area. And I legit was craving for Uncle Rikuro since the first time I saw a video on their jiggly cheesecake on Instagram. It's super delicous to eat when it's still warm but still mouth watering when it's cold. I also bought this face thingy for Soph from Lush. As usual, we did a lot of walking before heading to the airport. We landed in Malaysia the next day and continue living our lives. P/s: I'm planning to go to at least 3 countries later on. Just email or DM me on instagram (@izzaqstna) if you want to join the trip!
